On 17 October 2017 BIPT imposed a € 25,000 administrative fine upon Lycamobile for violation of the roaming rules: by compelling customers wanting to use roaming to use the more expensive tariff plan Pay As You Go, Lycamobile de facto applied a surcharge for roaming.
As of 15 June 2017 however the tariffs for roaming within the EU may not differ from the national tariffs.
