Since the publication of the Royal Decree of 27 April 2007 on managing the national numbering space and the grant and withdrawal of number user rights (in short “Numbering RD”), numerous technological and market developments have taken place in the electronic communications sector.
To facilitate this, a number of substantive changes have been made in the submitted draft RD. For instance, ASTRID N.V. has been given the right to reserve certain public numbering resources and the system for short numbers, test numbers and routing numbers has been clarified, a transparency signal has been introduced for inquiries services, ….
In addition, a number of provisions in the Numbering RD are obsolete. It is proposed to delete or update said provisions.
A number of minor adjustments that are already being applied in practice, e.g. regarding procedures, have been inserted as well.
