The Minister of Telecommunications, Petra De Sutter, has initiated a subsidy programme in order to modernise GSM-R masts.
Her aim is to improve mobile connectivity for passengers along the railway lines.
The purpose is to make this infrastructure 5G ready to make them compatible for commercial mobile network operators.
- The public consultation will be held over a period of 30 days (from 12 December 2023 to 11 January 2024).
