As the Belgian Digital Services Coordinator, the BIPT has published the very first annual activity report on the implementation by Belgium of the Digital Services Act (DSA), which entered into force on 17 February 2024.
This report covers a year of implementation and close collaboration between the BIPT, in its capacity as a coordinator and competent authority, and the other competent authorities: the Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel (CSA), the Medienrat and the Vlaamse Regulator voor de Media (VRM).
One of the key stages in this implementation was the conclusion, on 3 May 2024, of a cooperation agreement, which came into force on 9 January 2025.
During that year, the BIPT took a proactive role, which enabled it to act effectively in cooperation with the other competent authorities and various institutional partners.
The annual report also looks at the first complaints handled, concrete cases of European cooperation, and progress in the gradual implementation of the Regulation at national and European level.
