The BIPT has examined the price level of telecom products in a group of six countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom).

The purpose of this study is to verify how the price level of telecom products for residential users on the Belgian market compares to the price level of similar products in the countries that surround us. The analysis is carried out based on the tariff plan data gathered by the BIPT in October 2022.

This study shows that Belgium has improved its position regarding the amounts to be paid to satisfy mobile needs. For this type of services, our country thus generally finds itself somewhere in the middle (i.e. neither cheap nor excessively expensive) compared with its neighbours. However, Belgium's position regarding fixed and bundled telecom needs has changed little compared to 2021, and consumers in Belgium continue to pay considerably more than most of their neighbours as their needs for telecom services increase.
