In its annual report, the BIPT gives an overview of the past year.
2024 was a pivotal year for the BIPT. It started with the arrival in office of a new Council which laid the foundations for its vision in the Strategic Plan 2024-2026.
The major developments in 2024 include the extension of the BIPT's powers as part of the implementation of the new European digital regulation, the work announcing a reform of the European regulatory framework for electronic communications, cooperation projects between operators as part of the roll-out of optical fibre networks, the arrival of the 4th mobile operator and, on the postal market, the entry into force of the Parcel Act.
The BIPT continued naturally to carry out its own missions in the regulated sectors and contributed to numerous initiatives that will shape the future of electronic communications and postal services.
The annual report presents how the five strategic axes were translated into action via the Operational Plan 2024 and the day-to-day operation of the BIPT.
The main trends observed by the BIPT in the electronic communications, postal services and media markets are also described in the annual report.
