EU KIDS ACT logo;decorativeThe European Commission has launched a call for feedback on the proposal for the EU KIDS Act.

This proposal seeks to improve the online safety for minors in the European Union and to better protect them from risks associated with digital services and AI systems. It lays down rules on, among other things, minors’ access to certain social media and video-sharing platforms, safety by design, privacy-friendly age verification, and enforcement.

The European Commission’s aim in launching the call is to gather feedback from children, parents and guardians, teachers and educators, and online platforms in scope of the proposal. The responses received will be summarised by the European Commission and presented to the European Parliament and Council with the aim of feeding into the legislative debate.
