The access to the electronic communications market is free.
A newcomer on the market may provide electronic communications services or networks or resell in his proper name or on his own behalf following a simple notification thereof with the BIPT. Such notification entitles the newcomer to the status of operator.
This notification requires the payment of a one-time fee. In addition, an annual fee is charged by the BIPT. Thanks to the one-time fee and the annual fee the administrative costs and the costs for the file handling, can be covered.
Operators need to ensure that their activities meet the obligations imposed on them by the regulatory framework.
