Some firms based in neighbouring countries offer Internet access services via satellite able to serve Belgium.

The coverage of each network varies according to the type of network and from one operator to another.

Find out from your operator whether your address and the quality of your line are really sufficient for the offer wanted and whether none of the other offers would be better suited.

Note: if you use the telephone network the speed of your connection will depend on the distance to the telephone exchange and on the network load.

When the cable network is used, the speed of your connection depends on the number of persons connected at the same time to the same local loop (shared means).

The connection speed generally also depends on the equipment used and on the observance of the rules regarding internal cabling in your house.

[1] Thanks to the ADSL connection a fast connection is possible over the telephone line, independent of the telephone service.
[2] Through the VDSL connection an Internet connection is possible with speeds up to 30 Mbps over the telephone line, independent of the telephone service.
[3] A number of geographical areas have not been adapted yet. The network has to be bidirectional to support the EURODOCSIS standard for data transmission, a standard allowing very fast Internet access over the TV cable.
[4] Standard for transmission and fast Internet access based on radio waves.
[5] Mobile Virtual Network Operator: an operator who does not have any frequencies of his own, nor generally speaking, his own infrastructure, but who resells the capacity purchased from other operators.
