In this section you will find a certain number of explanatory documents on the R&TTE directive.

When buying radio and telecommunications terminal equipment always see to it that the device at least bears the CE marking.
This marking is at least made up of the symbol as illustrated below.
The manufacturer may only affix this marking if he can guarantee that his appliance complies with the European legislation.

If the use of radio equipment is subject to restrictions (need for a licence or if the use is not allowed in certain European countries or regions) the CE marking should also include the following alert sign.
The user shall observe these restrictions.
Information about those restrictions should be available on the packaging and in the manual.

It is obvious that appliances also have to comply with all legal (administrative and technical) requirements.
Equipment bought via unusual channels, such as purchases via the Internet, should comply with this legislation.
