The King lays down the status and remuneration of the Chairman and of the other Council members as well as their duties, by decree deliberated in the Council of Ministers.
The Council members are bound by professional secrecy. They may not disclose to third parties any confidential information of which they have knowledge as part of the performance of their duties, except in the cases laid down by law. The breach of this obligation leads to a proposal of dismissal from office.

The members of the Council are removed from office by decree deliberated in the Council of ministers on the minister’s proposal.
The King lays down the circumstances in which a dismissal may be proposed by a decree deliberated in the Council of Ministers.
Except in the case of removal from office, the Council members continue to carry out their duties until their term of office has expired, as long as their replacement has not been provided for.
